High School: Ashley has been on the Penn Varsity team as a freshmen, sophomore and as a junior. As a junior she was Team Captain and was a great team leader (of a young Penn team that won the Northern Indiana Conference beating SB Clay, and SB Washington). As a freshman, she received the “6th man” award. As a sophomore she was a starter. Also, as a sophomore and a junior she received the “mental toughness” award. As a sophomore, she was selected to guard senior “National Player of the Year”’ Skylar Diggins and held Skylar to her lowest scoring game that year! As a sophomore she received “CPOA Future Prospect Player of the Game” award from Michiana Video “Match up of the Week” in her team’s win against Northwood. This summer she led her Penn Varsity Team to the AYBT National championship in Ft Wayne where they won it all in the toughest division!

AAU Accomplishments: She has played for MBA/Indiana Elite since she was 9 years old to the present. She has played with her team at Nationals 2003-2006. They finished in the top 40 in 2005. Her Indiana Elite team was runner-up Indiana State Finals as 14/15U in 2008-2009. This summer when our team had big runs, it was usually sparked from our defense when Ash was at the tip and involved in ferocious traps. Her last year’s AAU coach was Doug Springer, cell: 219-928-8102. Program owner, Rod Creech, cell: 574-274-4472.

Statements about Ashley from some coaches:
“Ashley is the type of player that you want to build your team around.  She can shoot the deep 3, take it to the hole, or take you off the dribble and pull up for a jumper.  There is not a deficiency in her game.  She is a lock down defender, who takes pride in not allowing the opponent to score.  However, Ashley's biggest attribute is her leadership on and off of the court.  She is the epitome of team player.  Whatever it takes to win, Ashley will do.  It's cliché, but with Ashley it's the truth; Every team needs 10 Ashley Lutz's.”

"Ashley is a born leader that brings a top notch work ethic every time she steps on the floor.  She is intense, tough, and a passionate team player that shows no fear.  Ashley's ability to penetrate and dish, shoot the outside shot, shoot off of the dribble, and get physical on the inside make her an extremely versatile player and a challenge for the opponent.  In addition to that, Ashley takes great pride in her defense and is known as a defensive stopper.  Ashley is a solid basketball player that has what it takes to be a tremendous asset to any program at any level."
